Here at Tadasana we teach the Barkan Method a style of yoga that originated in Calcutta India, where it is known for it's warm climate. The practice is done In a warm room in order to prevent injury and to also to warm the muscles to allow for a deeper release. Toxins and poisons are flushed out of your body through the sweating process.

The series of postures begin with a breathing exercise that expands the lungs and wakes the body from head to toe by pumping fresh oxygen into the circulatory system.

Our 90 minute program will enhance your total health through the balancing and strengthen every system in your body. Your body will feel cleansed and energized because it will be functioning at 100% optimization.

All classes at Tadasana are recommended for all levels of students from the beginner to the advanced. You find your unique level and style by practicing at your own pace.

When the body improves, so does the mind. The the two connect we can begin to transform ourselves to become stronger and more self-realized and harmonious people. Please come to class with an open mind, as this is a process and it takes a lot of patience to develop the practice. Please enjoy the process of getting to know your body.

About Roberta McGinley

Roberta has been practicing yoga since 2000. She is experienced in Anusara, Kripalu and Ashtanga yoga. She was introduced to Bikram yoga, which she fell in love with, and truly believes in the benefits of any style of yoga. In 2001 she completed her level 1 teacher training with Jimmy and in 2005 she completed her level 2 and 3 with Jimmy. She has also completed Level 1 teacher training with Baron Baptiste and continues to expand her knowledge of yoga whenever time allows.
